Dallas (Dallas County) adopts its own code editions on top of Texas's statewide baselines and runs its own contractor registration, permit intake, fees, and inspections. Here's what we've verified and where to confirm the specifics.

Dallas issues permits through DallasNow, its online portal, and only City-registered master electricians and master plumbers — and TDLR-licensed air conditioning contractors with City MEP registration — can pull trade permits. HVAC replacements need a mechanical permit that can be pulled on its own, gas piping must pass a witnessed pressure test before Atmos Energy restores service, and re-roofing a home or duplex needs no permit when the work is worth $500 or less. The City's code page lists the 2021 International Codes.
